Astrology and Crystal Structure

Since I am interested in the intimate connection between Astrology and crystals, one of the books I have been recently reading is Crystal Power Crystal Healing by Michael Gienger. I have a few books on crystals but this one is by far the best. One of the major reasons for this is that the author not only studied chemistry and mineralogy but he followed the scientific method and carried out extensive tests with a group of people for a number of years in order to determine the healing properties of crystals. It is by reading Michael Gienger’s book that that inspired this article about Astrology and crystal structure.

Crystal therapy – the oldest medicine in the world after Shamanism

First of all, I want to give some information that I learned from Ivan and Gergana Mitevi, which are famous Bulgarian crystal healing specialists. (Aside from Shamanism), Crystal Healing is the oldest medicine in the world. It predates even Acupuncture. Judging from Chinese records, it is at least 6,000 years old. It was practised all over the world.

Those who have taken Robert Zoller’s astrological courses know that Alchemy and Magic are the sisters of Ancient Astrology. Well, crystals fall into the Alchemy category. Another thing worth mentioning is that, as some of you know, a lot of the ancient astrologers were also medical doctors and or/magicians or healers.

The astrologer Al Biruni worked with crystals

I found it interesting, for example, that the famous Al Biruni (10th-11th century) was ordered to find an elixir of immortality. Obviously, he failed. The closest thing he could find is called a Nephrite/Jade Cushion which offers tremendous health benefits and is, of course, used to this day.

Dinosaurs are young animals compared to some crystals

Crystals are very, very, very old. The dinosaurs were young animals compared to some of them! It can take millions of years for some crystals to develop. Comparing such an a huge span of time with horoscopic Astrology, (which is what we mean by Astrology today, namely the Ascendant, the 12 places/houses, etc) which is only 2,500 years old, is like, I guess, comparing the length of life of an eagle to the life of an insect.

Astrology’s age vs that of the planets and stars

This is something I have yet to read someone discuss. Mankind has been using (horoscopic) Astrology for about 2,500 years, but what about the age of the planets?

In other words, knowledge was given to mankind and we started using the astrological science, but the planets (and the constellations and the stars obviously) were already there. So how old are the planets?

Why is there such a huge discrepancy between the existence of the Earth and our Spirits later on incarnating as humans, versus the extremely short usage of Astrology compared with the whole period humans have existed? Said in another way, humans have existed for hundreds of thousands of years or even longer, while Astrology has been used for just 2,500 years. Why is that?

By the way, the situation is exactly the same with Classical Feng Shui (aka Kan Yu), Qi Men Dun Jia, Chinese Physiognomy (face, palm and body reading), with Chinese Astrology (BaZi/Four Pillars of Destiny and Zi Wei Dou Shu) being even younger. Knowledge was given in mysterious ways and by some beings and the Chinese started benefiting from it.

As far as structure is concerned, the planets are the most important in Ancient Astrology. There are 7 wandering stars which are divided by 5 planets + 2 Luminaries/Lights, namely the Sun and the Moon.

Chinese Astrology, although it does not directly utilize the 7 wandering stars, makes use of the exact same structure. Each of the planets rules 2 zoidia/images, with the Sun and the Moon ruling 1 each = 5×2 +1+1= 12 zoidia and 7 planets.

Astrology and crystal structure

As far as the structure of crystals, it turns out that even though there are 3,000-4,000 different types of crystals today, they all fall into 7 geometric shapes:

  • square
  • hexagon
  • triangle
  • rectangle
  • rhombus
  • parallelogram
  • trapezium.

However, this is not the full story.

As there are exceptions in almost everything, so it is with crystals. There is an 8th group of crystal structures, which is called amorphous. It means that crystals falling here do not possess any kind of real structure. In other words, they do not have a geometrical lattice.

So what we have are 7 crystal structures + 1 exception.

Sure, the 7 structures can be matched with the 7 planets, but what of the 8th? When I initially read that, I thought of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. In other words, planets that are largely invisible to the naked eye and that are outside the sphere of the star of Saturn, representing time and order. Whether this is true or not, I do not know.

Another way of looking at it, which came to me later, is by taking the 8th structure as exceptions, special dispositios/configurations, missing information that would allow one to complete the puzzle and increase their accuracy, etc. Again, I do not know whether this is true.

Another way of examining this is to take the 8th structure as the fixed stars. It seems to make the most sense. After all, the fixed stars are the 8th sphere and lie beyond the planets. Moreover, they have a primary motion whereas the planets move by secondary motion and hence the fixed stars are an exception.

Which of these 3 is correct (or some other one perhaps) is yet to be determined. It is possible, however, that the Astrology and crystal structure explanation could lie elsewhere.
